Unit 1

Backhand

The backhand is where The Stokely Disc Golf Methodâ„¢ starts, with the same focus on power and accuracy as Scott's in-person seminars. You'll build a baseline throw one piece at a time then learn to change the line, angle and speed on purpose so one sound throw covers more shots. The goal isn't to copy anyone's form: it's the backhand your body throws best, farther and straighter. Less stress on your body so you can play longer.

Unit 2

Sidearm

At a seminar, sidearm practice starts by finding out whether you're a pendulum or a windmill thrower, and so does this unit. From there you'll set up a baseline throw (elbow position, a forward-facing stance and grip), work on your arm slot, the height your arm travels through the throw, and a release. Then you'll learn to adjust the angle and your run-up. The aim is a sidearm with reduced risk of injury, more distance and more consistency, built for the way your body moves.

Unit 3

Putting

Being good at putting means correct mechanics and a routine you can repeat, and this unit covers both. You'll learn the three basic putts (spin, push, and spush, a mix of the two), the variations that grow out of them and the red flags behind most misses. Then you'll choose the putt that fits your body and the shot in front of you, and practice it until it holds up under pressure.
